Large Loss

Nigel Partridge leads our Large Loss team, managing a multi-track caseload of high-value motor, casualty, and property claims, with a particular focus on catastrophic losses. He oversees complex liability-disputed claims, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain, routinely handling cases with reserves exceeding £1m. Nigel combines technical expertise with a collaborative approach, ensuring clients receive strategic, commercially-minded solutions.

Nigel has extensive experience in insurance litigation, having held senior partnership roles at major defendant insurer firms for over a decade. He has co-run and mentored departments of over 100 lawyers, sharing knowledge while maintaining his own high-value caseload. His work includes leading cross-jurisdictional claims and innovative litigation that has progressed through the Court of Appeal. Nigel also acts for internationally recognised insurers, including as sole UK panel solicitor for a Baltic-based insurer, and regularly speaks at national insurance law conferences.
