Mikael Kowal is head of MAQS industry group Energy and has provided advice to companies in the energy sector since 2007. Mikael has particular experience in assisting companies within wind and solar power, energy storage (in particular battery energy storage systems, i.e. BESS) and electrofuels, and has been involved in some of Sweden's largest and most complex transactions in these areas. Mikael also regularly advises clients on project agreements in the energy sector, including power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other commercial energy agreements.

Mikael Kowal also regularly advises companies on mergers and acquisitions, capital procurement, board and ownership-related issues, corporate governance and incentive programs. He is frequently engaged as chairman of shareholders’ meetings.
