Career

Josef Peer is an equity partner at Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner (fwp), one of Austria’s leading business law firms, where he has been a key member of the public law team since 2015. He was promoted to attorney in 2019 and became a partner in January 2025, reflecting his expertise in public business law, environmental and planning law, construction and zoning law, and infrastructure law. He advises public authorities and private clients on complex infrastructure and real estate projects, guiding them through all stages from zoning and permitting to construction. He is also a recognized expert in ESG and sustainability matters. Josef Peer also serves as a lecturer at the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna and is a Junior Board Member of the Association of European Lawyers (AEL). He is author of numerous publications and blog posts on environmental law, spatial planning, and energy law. He is also a frequent speaker at professional seminars and conferences.

Josef Peer holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree (LL.B. and LL.M.) in Business Law from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien), completing his LL.M. in 2012. During his studies, he spent a term abroad at Jönköping International Business School in Sweden in 2011, which enriched his academic experience with an international perspective.
