Haco van der Houven van Oordt is attorney-at-law and partner at AKD. He is an international litigation and arbitration specialist. Haco handles a wide range of commercial disputes and has significant experience in shipping and offshore matters. He is an expert on marine accidents and is known for his expertise on protective and enforcement actions. Haco also regularly acts in insurance-related disputes. Clients appreciate his drive and creativity. Haco is listed in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and in Chambers Europe Band 1. He is editor of the Dutch Maritime and Insurance Law Review ‘Schip en Schade’.

Haco lectures maritime law at Utrecht Law College and is editor of maritime and insurance law report Schip & Schade. Haco is supervisory board member of the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam.

Haco obtained his law degree at the University of Leiden in 1997.
