Jan Bouckaert is the head of Stibbe’s Environment and Planning practice. He focuses primarily on international, European and Belgian environmental law. Jan’s core practice centers on environmental law in the broadest sense of the word, including regulatory (chemicals, electrical devices, hazardous substances, etc.), climate change, emission rights and renewable energy, EIA, waste and soil, water, air, and nature conservation at all levels (international, European and Belgian). Moreover, he has a broad expertise regarding project development, permits, planning and zoning, expropriation, and nuclear law. Jan also has a wealth of experience in drafting, adapting and interpreting laws and regulatory texts for public authorities at federal and regional levels. In addition, he handles cases concerning human rights (ECHR), constitutional law and general administrative law.
