Grégoire Tribolet is a Partner and Co-Head of our Banking and Finance Group in Geneva. He is a specialist in banking, financial services and corporate law. With a focus on servicing clients in the financial industry, he covers a broad range of specialized services, including regulatory compliance, licensing applications and proceedings before the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions and corporate reorganizations. Grégoire has also developed niche expertise in fintech solutions, blockchain and data protection.

Experience:

• Advising banks, asset managers and other financial intermediaries on a wide range of regulatory matters, including the implementation of new regulations, corporate governance, AML, cross-border, professional secrecy, sanctions, outsourcing, market conduct, data protection and cybersecurity, as well as on contractual and business matters
• Assisting financial institutions with licensing applications and proceedings before the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA)
• Advising financial institutions and corporations on financing transactions with a value ranging from tens of million to several billion U.S. dollars
• Assisting financial institutions, crypto companies and corporations with blockchain projects, including in connection with the issuance of tokens, the custody of digital assets, and regulatory approvals from FINMA
• Acting as escrow agent in transactional matters, including in a multi-billion transaction
• Advising financial institutions with mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition or sale of client portfolios, bank mergers and the acquisition of asset managers and family offices
• Assisted two Swiss banks in obtaining their full banking license from FINMA
• Assisted several Swiss banks in setting up their crypto custody offering
