Position

Philippe Borens is a Partner in Schellenberg Wittmer’s Zurich office where he heads the Banking and Finance Group. His main areas of practice are banking and finance law, including the regulation of financial intermediaries and financial services, equity and debt capital markets, investment law, and corporate law.

Experience:

  • Advising Swiss and international banks, investment firms, asset managers, insurance companies, and corporates in finance transactions, including loans, acquisition finance, rights issues, bonds and notes issues, securitizations, collective investment schemes, hedge funds, derivatives and structured products, as well as securities listings and regulatory issues
  • Swiss counsel to ams AG in the placement of senior unsecured bonds in an aggregate nominal amount of USD 350 million and convertible into 3.27 million ordinary no par value bearer shares listed on SIX
  • Swiss counsel to BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse and UBS in their capacity as joint lead managers in CHF 400m bond issue by Republic of Argentina, with bonds issued under NY law and listed on SIX Swiss Exchange (Swiss Franc Bond of the Year 2017 (IFR Awards 2017))
