Magdalena Roibu is a partner at Schoenherr Romania, where she specialises in wcc & criminal defence. Magdalena's extensive professional experience as a white-collar crime law practitioner adds up to her university teaching career in the area of criminal law and criminal procedure. She has a strong track record in assisting defendants as well as victims in criminal investigations and follow-up criminal court files, with most of the cases involving complex offences committed by organised crime groups. Magdalena has assisted companies, company representatives and private individuals in criminal investigations and trials on tax evasion, abuse of office, document counterfeiting, embezzlement, bribery, trafficking in influence, bid rigging, cybercrimes, etc. She also assists multinational companies in internal investigations, with a view to identify and prevent potential criminal law breaches at the level of their Romanian subsidiaries. She holds a PhD in Criminal Law from the West University of Timisoara, Faculty of Law. She is frequently invited as a speaker at specialised criminal law events and has authored a considerable number of publications.
