Career
Katarzyna Szczudlik is a Partner at Schoenherr in Warsaw and one of Poland's leading lawyers advising on fintech regulation, AI Act compliance, NIS2 implementation and data protection. Her practice focuses on technology law and EU regulatory compliance for international companies operating in Poland and the European Union.
She advises fintech companies, crypto-asset businesses, payment institutions and technology companies on MiCA, CASP licensing, PSD2, AML and entry to the Polish financial market, including representation before the Polish Financial Supervisory Authority (KNF). She has a strong track record in blockchain, VASP/CASP regulation and cross-border fintech expansion.
Katarzyna advises organisations on EU AI Act compliance — including high-risk AI system classification, AI governance frameworks, AI vendor contracts and deployer obligations. She has followed the AI Act since its earliest legislative stages.
She advises financial institutions, technology companies and regulated entities on DORA operational resilience requirements, NIS2 cybersecurity obligations under the amended Polish KSC Act, and overlapping compliance frameworks. Her NIS2 work covers applicability assessments, Wykaz KSC registration, SZBI implementation and board-level liability.
As a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP, IAPP), she also advises on GDPR compliance, data breaches, DPIAs and cross-border data transfers.
Katarzyna is regularly ranked in the top tier of Poland's leading FinTech practitioners by Chambers & Partners and as a leading data protection and TMT practitioner by Legal 500 EMEA. She is a Forbes Poland Top 25 Women Lawyers in Business.
