Associate

Obaid is an associate registered with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department. He advises on complex commercial agreements and high-value disputes, with a practice focused on hands-on corporate advisory and deal execution. His work includes M&A transactions, joint ventures, and shareholder arrangements, as well as related intellectual property and regulatory matters.

Alongside his transactional practice, Obaid works closely with the onshore UAE Courts team on preaction advice and litigation strategy, and he maintains a focused arbitration practice. He is known for giving clear, practical advice that is commercially attuned and strategically minded.

Representative Experience

Real Estate M&A: Led a landmark c. AED 240 million acquisition of a prime commercial real estate asset in Dubai for an international investment group. Hospitality Asset Sale: Executed an expedited AED 15 million sale of a hospitality asset for a UAE investment group. A holistic and comprehensive transfer of all intellectual property, including the brand, was critical to the transaction. Corporate Structuring: Restructured a major MENA-based family group under an ADGM holding company, consolidating operating entities, securing key brand and intellectual property assets and establishing specialised investment vehicles to facilitate capital raising from HNWIs and institutional investors. Shareholder Dispute Resolution: Successfully resolved a complex shareholder dispute for a UAE hospitality group with assets exceeding AED 30 million, securing corporate control and business continuity without court intervention.
