Poul Schmith

Jacob Christian Sølling is the head of our insurance team. He has a strong background in financial lines, professional indemnity (PI), directors and officers liability insurance (D&O), crime and general commercial liability. Jacob specialises in dispute resolution and advises in particular on insurance claims including the assessment of claims, questions of coverage, dispute resolution, subrogation, etc. He is very experienced in dealing with cases involving financial matters, and he has conducted a large number of cases concerning, in particular, the professional liability of advisors and management liability. A close and ongoing collaboration with the client is a priority so that there is clear alignment of expectations together with a focus on providing clear and direct advisory services. Jacob provides advice to Danish and foreign insurance companies in particular, but he also assists businesses and public bodies with questions relating to this area of the law. His case history of complex disputes including disputes with links abroad testifies to his ability to navigate successfully in complex insurance matters and deliver optimum results for his clients. Jacob's advisory services also include regulatory matters. Jacob is experienced in drafting insurance contracts, insurance terms, etc. His close collaboration with his insurance clients means that he has deep insight into the insurance sector and is able to provide advice with a commercial view. Jacob's previous experience includes matters concerning personal injury including industrial injury, motor, patient injury and similar matters. As a result, he has deep insight into the loss portfolios of insurance companies and is able quickly to understand and advise on all types of matters.
