Poul Schmith

Tomas Ilsøe Andersen heads our corporate litigation and defence and security teams. He is one of Denmark's most experienced advisors on public contracts, complex disputes and defence-related procurements where legal, strategic and security policy considerations meet. Tomas litigates business disputes and conducts arbitrations on behalf of both public and private clients, nationally and internationally, and also provides assistance to key authorities in matters of significant national and strategic importance. Tomas has a systematic approach to risk management and uses risk assessments as a central reporting tool. He has significant experience in the dialogue with insurance companies, investors and other stakeholders that, in addition to the parties directly affected, are also to be kept informed of the ongoing development in strategy and results. For more than two decades, Tomas has assisted the Danish Ministry of Defence and the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) in the area of defence and security in many of Denmark's most strategic and politically significant procurements. He is an advisor in demand with particular expertise in Article 346 TFEU and the Defence and Security Directive and has contributed to developing the legal framework for quick defence procurements, establishing national production capacity and negotiating key contracts on strategically important defence systems. Moreover, Tomas provides advice on export controls, investment monitoring and complex contractual relationships between governmental and international operators, including key operators in the area of security policy.
