Axel specialises in advising listed and unlisted companies on corporate law, governance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. He also assists with capital markets operations.

He has developed recognised expertise in providing long-term support to family offices and shareholders of listed companies in these areas.

Axel is active in a wide range of sectors, including life sciences, biotech, fintech, and the pharmaceutical industry.

Axel has been appointed as an accredited third-party decision-maker by the French Order of Lawyers at the Brussels Bar in the context of mandatory third-party decisions, an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Institute of Directors (GUBERNA).

Axel obtained his law degree magna cum laude from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in 2003. He was admitted to the Brussels Bar the same year. Axel joined NautaDutilh in 2024 after working for nearly 20 years at a leading law firm.
