Clare Gillett graduated from University College Dublin (BCL, European) in 2009 and qualified in 2016. She is currently a Partner at McCann FitzGerald LLP. Clare provides specialist advice on regulatory issues at an Irish and European level. She has particular knowledge of the regulatory regimes applicable to insurance and reinsurance companies and insurance distributors. Clare also provides bespoke advice on technical regulatory issues as well as the drafting and negotiating of a wide range of commercial agreements for financial institutions. She has acted in a number of transactions (both for purchaser and seller insurance undertakings) involving insurance and insurance distribution companies. In this context, Clare has conducted large scale due diligence exercises involving reviews of customer contracts, distribution and strategic partnership agreements, reinsurance agreements, and terms of business.
