He also led, between 2018 and 2024, one of the three Litigation and Arbitration teams of the firm. He now fully focuses on co-leading the Intellectual Property Department and, more particularly, on leading the intellectual property litigation practice within the firm.

Main focus on patent law and IP litigation and arbitration, he is also a member of the Health and Pharmaceuticals team of the firm. Postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property and currently running his PhD in Intellectual Property. He is a member of the Intellectual Property Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Portugal and an IP arbitrator at ARBITRARE.

He was a co-chair of the under 40 Commission of the Portuguese Arbitration Association. He is also in the list of arbitrators of the Arbitration Centre of the Oporto Commercial Association. Moreover, he is a member of the “Litigation Lawyers Circle”, an association that gathers elite litigation lawyers.

Gold Level in IAM Patent 1000 (2023 and 2024 editions). Consistently ranked in other directories (including Best Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal and Iberian Lawyer). Ricardo was the winner of the Iberian Lawyer “40 under Forty Awards” (Life Sciences) in 2021.
