Position

Jerome is an Associate in Hassans’ Financial Services Department and forms part of the firm’s FinTech and Funds Team. He specialises in corporate and regulatory matters and advises clients in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, e-money, payments and wider financial services sectors. His practice includes advising banking institutions and banking groups on regulatory compliance, prudential requirements and corporate governance matters, as well as supporting on transactional mandates involving group restructurings, acquisitions and licensing considerations.

Jerome advises regulated financial services firms and technology-led businesses on authorisation, governance, compliance and ongoing regulatory obligations, drawing on a practical understanding of Gibraltar’s financial regulatory environment. He also supports startups and growth-stage companies with corporate structuring, selection of appropriate vehicles and operational setup within regulated markets.

In addition, Jerome has valuable experience in advising both private and experienced investor funds, underscoring his versatility and comprehensive understanding of the financial services landscape. His work also regularly extends to data protection, pensions, telecommunications, intellectual property and AML/CFT compliance. He has provided regulatory and strategic advice to multinational corporations and globally recognised entities, assisting them with navigating compliance frameworks, product approvals and cross-border considerations.

His well-rounded knowledge and proactive, solutions-focused approach make him a go-to resource for clients seeking comprehensive legal support in banking, financial services and emerging technology.

Jerome graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a dual major in Business & Marketing, before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law. He completed the Bar Training Course at Manchester Metropolitan University and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. He was admitted to the Bar of England & Wales in November 2021 and subsequently called to the Gibraltar Bar in March 2023.
