Overview
Emma has developed her private client practice over the last 12 years. Previously a Partner at another large international law firm, Emma went on to establish her own boutique private client and family office practice, Legacy Consulting, before joining the ISOLAS partnership.
Prior to this, Emma began her career in the corporate and commercial department, assisting corporate clients on all aspects of their business set up in Gibraltar. She also formed part of the gaming team assisting clients with their gaming applications in Gibraltar as well as ensuring regulatory compliance.
During this time, Emma built up her portfolio of private clients, establishing strong links with the founders and senior management of her corporate clients, as well as from international intermediaries.
Private Client
Emma’s main practice includes advising UHNWI, HNWI and family offices on all of their requirements. She deals with relocations, assists in the establishment of succession plans and family asset planning, as well as advising on family governance. She also advises family offices on any financial services regulatory matters which may apply to them.
Emma has undertaken significant studies during the last 10 years, in particular, a diploma specialising in the advising of family offices and attending regular professional development events on international taxation, European standards, succession and the structuring of family offices, among others.
Tax
Emma advises across both Family Office’s and Private Client’s alike on all tax matters and regularly attends professional development events on international taxation.
Banking & Regulatory Services
Emma also assists the banking team with the application for e-money licences as well as the acquisition of e-money companies by other corporates. She is familiar with all aspects of the application process, as well as regulatory requirements, advising on all the corporate matters relating to each setup, including MiFID investment services licences and DLT.
Funds & Investments
Emma has also handled private equity transactions, whereby investment has been raised by a business resulting in the issuance of a new series of shares in the company. She is able to advise and assist with the terms of the investment proposal, relevant subscription agreements, drafting of the shareholders agreement, making the requisite amendments to the company’s articles of association and producing other relevant documentation.
