Dr Jürg G. Schütz has a broad, interdisciplinary educational and professional background in law and business (construction and real estate sector), which he has acquired over more than 20 years as an attorney-at-law and architect. As former General Counsel of a property developer and Senior Assistant at the Institute for Economic Law, he has in-depth expertise in commercial law, particularly in contract, corporate and procedural law. He assists clients with challenging projects and business transactions, supports them in developing amicable solutions and enforces their rights in court.

He also serves as President of the Federal Valuation Commission, District 7 (Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Solothurn and German-speaking Jura) and as a Judge at the Criminal Court of Basel-City.

Dr Jürg G. Schütz publishes regularly, particularly in the areas of commercial and procedural law, the latter with a focus on mediation. In addition to his dissertation in the field of civil procedural law and out-of-court dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration), he is the author of various essays and commentaries. He is also the sole editor of a commentary on partnership law.
