Nassos Felonis is a Partner and a leading practitioner in Natural & Renewable Resources, Energy, Minerals and Environmental Law, with a practice spanning energy, natural resources, real estate and environmental law. A recognised expert in complex corporate projects and investment-related legal and regulatory matters, he draws on decades of practice in Greece and the U.S. to advise corporates, investors and public bodies on regulatory structuring, foreign investment, government procurement and project development — with particular weight in mining, renewables and large-scale industrial projects where Greek regulatory frameworks intersect with international capital.
Before co-founding the firm, he worked at Healy & Baillie in New York and at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank affiliate, in Washington, DC. He later served as Associate Lecturer at NYU Law School, and in Greece led the working group that prepared the draft bill for the Hellenic Ministry of Development establishing the legislative framework for third-party financing (TPF) in energy-saving projects. He has published over the years on government procurement, technology transfer and licensing, foreign investment and privatization. He has acted as General Counsel for Eldorado Gold for its gold mining projects in northern Greece, as well as other international mining companies on their Greek projects, advised the Hellenic Industrial Development Bank on large industrial and mining projects, and was part of founding team of Accenture S.A. in Greece.
Clients rely on Nassos to navigate regulatory complexity with international perspective. He combines technical precision with commercial pragmatism, structuring projects that are legally robust, investment-ready and aligned with longer-term policy and market developments — and is equally at home translating Greek regulatory reality for foreign investors and explaining foreign-investor expectations to Greek counterparties.
