- Sale of CIC’s older people’s care home business EachStep Care, to Park Homes UK Limited. Comprising 15 care homes. Dealt with property, pensions, employment and commercial due diligence as well as negotiating the detailed terms of the sale and securing approval from English and Scottish Care Regulators and approval from 6 local authorities to the assignment of existing care contracts to Park Homes.
- High profile inquest following death of a teenager. The patient was known to mental health services but was lost to follow up. The patient advised a physiotherapist of suicidal thoughts and this was escalated to local authority, GP and a local mental health team. The patient ligatured. Safeguarding policies were reviewed and the Coroner accepted the improved systems and the trust avoided a PFD finding.
