Overview
Tanzania has experienced an exodus of foreign law firms in recent years, notably Norton Rose Fulbright and ENSafrica, giving further fuel to the impression that the jurisdiction is a tough place to operate in. Despite this, Clyde & Co LLP has maintained its commitment to the jurisdiction as it looks to cement its presence in East Africa; it launched an association with Nairobi firm Kangwana & Co in 2020. South Africa-headquartered Bowmans has also made a big impression on the market, notably thanks to the presence of key local figures Wilbert Kapinga and Audax Kameja. IMMMA Advocates is a member of DLA Piper Africa.
