Bird & Bird's group is highly regarded in the market thanks to an international IP practice which handles patents, litigation and trade secrets issues paired with significant expertise in the media, music and entertainment, and publishing sectors. The team is led by Gabriel Lidman and was recently bolstered by the arrival of Monique Wadsted from MAQS Advokatbyrå. Recent highlights include representing mobile payment platform Accumulate against BankID in the Patent and Marketing Court in a patent infringement dispute, patent revocation litigation and trade secret and copyright issues. Jerker Edström, Staffan Boström and Malin Ekstrand departed to establish Ström in 2018.

Advokatfirman Delphi's team handles the development of IP strategies, and the management and enforcement of rights related to trade marks, design rights and copyrights. Practice co-head Henrik Bengtsson recently represented Procter & Gamble in two advertising disputes relating to alleged unfair marketing claims; he is also experienced in internet-related issues, data protection work and licensing matters. Agnes Hammarstrand combines IT and IP expertise and assisted the STS Student Travel School with online marketing mandates. Team co-head Peter Skoglund is particularly active for manufacturers of branded consumer goods and for clients in the entertainment industry.

The team at Advokatbyrån Gulliksson 'never fails to deliver straightforward advice on complex issues' and advises a strong client portfolio including Ikea, Volvo and Teva on IP work. Matthias Malmstedt, who 'knows how to best use all of the tools in the legal toolbox', represented Eisai in the Swedish Patent Court following a filed writ of summons, and worked with newly promoted partner Magnus Dahlman to represent Sandoz in a patent dispute. Managing partner Jens Olsson is singled out as 'a skilled lawyer, who is good at seeing the strategic options without losing sight of the details'.

Clients single out Sandart&Partners Advokatbyrå KB for its 'excellent cooperation' and ability to 'always be one step ahead'. The IP practice is led by the highly regarded Dag Sandart and covers the full range of issues from patent litigation to licensing and other contractual work across trade mark, copyright, database, design and media matters. In a recent highlight, Karin Cederlund successfully represented a social media network in court proceedings. Other key practitioners include 'fantastic litigator' Peter Sande, Anders Kylhammar, who 'gives sound advice based on deep IP knowledge combined with strategic thinking', and associates Karin Westerberg and Julia Ericsson.

Setterwalls fields an experienced team, which is skilled in patent litigation, transactional work and trade mark matters for clients across the life sciences, music and entertainment sectors. Martin Levinsohn is active in patent disputes involving pharmaceuticals companies; he successfully represented Teva in a patent dispute against Boehringer Ingelheim. Sophia Spala advised Diageo on trade mark and marketing issues, and Fredrik Roos is well versed in IT law.

Advokatfirman Vinge has 'strong knowledge of the field' and handles contentious and non-contentious matters including trade mark prosecutions and the IP elements of transactional matters. The 'broadly experienced' Håkan Borgenhäll and counsel Richard Wessman recently represented Orkla in a dispute against Nestlé regarding the Felix trade mark. Tobias Kempas, who 'quickly understands complicated issues and always focuses on the client's best interests', was promoted to counsel in 2018, and specialist Eva Blum is the key contact in Malmö.

The IP team at Baker McKenzie has 'subject and market expertise and knowledge' and handles transactions, licensing deals and patent litigation matters for global clients, benefitting from the firm's international network. Experienced practice head Peder Oxhammar and capital markets specialist Joakim Falkner recently advised TerraNet on its IPO on Nasdaq First North Premier and also assisted it with licensing issues. Senior associate Alexandra Persson is also a key name to note.

Advokatfirman Cederquist KB combines its IP, media and marketing group with its IT and telecoms team to act for clients in the technology, telecoms and e-commerce sectors. In a recent highlight, Malin Allard represented Daisy Grace in a trade mark infringement case before the Swedish Patent and Market Court. Bonnier Broadcasting and Samsung are also clients. Johanna Linder is recognised for her IT experience.

Recognised for its media law expertise, Danowsky & Partners regularly acts for newspapers, broadcasting and digital entertainment clients, and television, film and commercial production companies. In a recent highlight, MittMedia instructed Ulf Isaksson to defend its local daily newspaper Arbetarbladet against a damages claim brought by a businessman. The team also advises on copyright and trade mark issues. Group leader Peter Danowsky is a noteworthy practitioner.

The 'professional' team at Gozzo Advokater advises national and international clients on enforcement matters, the commercialisation of IP and contentious work. Håkan Sjöström represented Ipiccolo in a patent infringement case in the Swedish Patent and Marketing court, Ann-Charlotte Söderlund Björk is experienced in the enforcement and litigation of IP rights and recently acted for several clothing brands and rock groups in trade mark disputes, and Catharina Bratt focuses on media, and advertising and marketing law.

The 'very professional' team at Mannheimer Swartling has 'great knowledge of the field' and advises a range of clients in the life sciences, technology, media and manufacturing sectors. The Gothenburg-based Niklas Sjöblom heads up the group and has notable IT expertise. Clients also single out Per Josefson, who 'has excellent skills, which, when combined with his innovative approach, makes him a formidable litigator'; he recently represented Leo Pharma in a pan-European patent litigation involving one of its products against Sandoz.

Boutique firm COM ADVOKATBYRÅ regularly acts for clients in the IT, media and entertainment sectors handling contentious and non-contentious privacy, copyright, outsourcing, trade mark and marketing matters. Helene Hillerström Miksche leads the group.

DLA Piper¬†is recognised for its 'practical view and real advice' and has a strong media focus alongside knowledge of the gaming and gambling sectors and trade mark expertise. Practice head¬†Emil √Ėdling¬†recently assisted¬†ITV studios with its acquisition of Swedish production company Elk Production; other clients include Bonnier Group,¬†Commercial Sports Media and Titan Television.

At Frank Advokatbyrå, Mattias Erdös and Linda Landén advise on a range of IP and media-related matters and regularly act for broadcasters, film and television producers, and streaming and content providers in contentious issues. In a notable highlight, Erdös and litigator Helena Dandenell represented Bonnier Broadcasting against producer Timelleri in a dispute regarding the termination of a commissioning agreement for a television series.

The IP team at Gernandt & Danielsson Advokatbyrå has significant experience in trade marks and assists its clients with matters including trade mark strategies and portfolio protection issues. Senior associate Erik Sandgren advised an entertainment company on the IP and marketing law aspects of its investment in a mobile game developer.

Hammarskiöld & Co AB provides 'extremely helpful advice' on IP, media and entertainment matters.
