Partner Urim Vokshi discusses how Vokshi & Lata is adapting to clients’ evolving needs and positioning the firm for sustained growth in Kosovo’s dynamic legal market.

What do you see as the main points that differentiate Vokshi & Lata Law Firm from your competitors?

We combine deep local knowledge of the Kosovo legal market with extensive experience advising international clients on complex cross-border matters. Our partners are hands-on, ensuring senior-level engagement throughout the client relationship. We also pride ourselves on being proactive—offering strategic advice before problems arise, rather than simply reacting to them. Ultimately, our goal is to become trusted advisors, not just legal providers.

Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

We expect significant growth in renewable energy, banking & finance, and tax advisory services. The drivers include increased foreign investment in Kosovo’s energy transition projects, ongoing development of the financial sector, and heightened regulatory focus on tax compliance for nonresident investors.

What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?

We have strengthened our cross-border capabilities by expanding strategic collaborations with leading international law firms. This ensures seamless support for clients investing or operating in multiple jurisdictions while maintaining the agility of a boutique firm.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

Yes. We use secure digital platforms for document sharing, virtual meetings, and real-time project management, enabling faster turnaround times and greater transparency. Technology allows us to remain accessible to clients worldwide while ensuring data security and efficiency.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

We recently advised a leading international bank on regulatory compliance for a complex financing transaction in Kosovo. Our guidance allowed the client to structure the deal efficiently while mitigating legal and tax risks, enabling them to proceed confidently with their investment.

In addition, we authored the Legal Guide to Investing in Kosovo—now available in English, French, and German—to provide foreign investors with clear, up-to-date insights into the country’s legal and regulatory framework.

Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

Absolutely. Clients seek law firms that can anticipate market changes and offer long-term partnership. In three years, we see the firm consolidating its position as a leading independent law firm in Kosovo, with expanded expertise in energy, finance, and technology sectors, while continuing to deliver the high-quality, client-focused service that defines our practice.
