Interview with: Arthur Rohmer, Managing Partner
Artieri & Rohmer Law Offices
Arthur Rohmer, Managing Partner at Artieri & Rohmer Law Offices in Monaco, discusses the firm’s distinctive positioning, client-oriented approach, and future growth perspectives.
What do you see as the main points that differentiate Artieri & Rohmer Law Offices from your competitors?
Artieri & Rohmer distinguishes itself through a blend of extensive local knowledge and strong international capabilities. Our team maintains deep-rooted expertise in Monaco’s specific legal landscape, which is complemented by our broad network of international relationships.
A key strength is our commitment to personalized client relationships, whereby partners engage directly in each case, providing tailored solutions with exceptional responsiveness and proactive communication.
Furthermore, transparency in our billing practices is central to our philosophy. We generally prefer fixed fees or capped rates whenever possible, ensuring clients benefit from complete visibility and predictability in their financial engagements with our firm.
Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?
In the corporate sphere, we anticipate substantial growth in regulatory compliance, cross-border transactions, data protection and new technology law.
Regulatory compliance is increasingly critical given the complexity and continuous evolution of international and local laws. Cross-border transactions are growing due to Monaco’s attractiveness to global investors and international businesses seeking structured, compliant solutions in a favorable fiscal environment.
Data Protection and new technology law are becoming essential as digital transformation accelerates, leading businesses to seek expert guidance on compliance and strategic advice in integrating new technologies.
For private clients, immigration, international mobility, and estate planning are expected to expand significantly. Monaco’s unique positioning as a secure and appealing destination for high-net-worth individuals continues to attract an ever-growing number of residents. This influx generates a higher demand for expert advice on residency requirements, efficient wealth structuring, and cross-border estate planning.
What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?
The most significant recent change has been our relocation to new, modern premises on Avenue d’Ostende (in the center of Monaco).
This move symbolizes our commitment to growth, modernization, and enhanced client services.
We have also undertaken strategic investments in advanced technology and talent acquisition, enhancing our responsiveness and our capacity to manage increasingly sophisticated legal challenges.
These improvements directly translate into greater operational efficiency, better resource allocation, and higher levels of client satisfaction.
Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?
As a resolutely modern firm, we consistently leverage technology to enhance client interactions, streamline processes, and improve overall service delivery.
We adopt technological innovations specifically to benefit our clients, ensuring these solutions provide tangible value rather than simply adopting trends.
Our expertise in data protection and new technology law allows us to remain at the forefront of digital advancements.
While recognizing that artificial intelligence and digitalization offer remarkable opportunities for efficiency and innovation, we equally prioritize human capital by investing continuously in training and professional development.
Ultimately, our aim is to combine cutting-edge technology with personal engagement, maintaining high service standards and building enduring client relationships based on trust and effective communication.
Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?
We recently assisted an Ultra High Net Worth Individual (UHNWI) relocating to Monaco.
Initially, we guided this client through immigration procedures and provided detailed support on international tax / mobility considerations.
Following this, we managed cross-border legal aspects and assisted him in acquiring a Monaco-based company, addressing each regulatory step and compliance requirement involved.
This comprehensive approach ensured that the client’s personal and professional transition was handled efficiently, aligning fully with Monaco’s specific legal environment.
Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?
Increasingly, our clients value stability, predictability, and strategic foresight from their legal advisors.
Recognizing this, our vision for the next three years involves maintaining our reputation as trusted strategic advisors who blend traditional legal excellence with forward-looking innovative solutions.
We plan to strategically expand our team with experts in key growth areas, continuously adopt and integrate advanced technological tools to enhance our operational capabilities.
Artieri & Rohmer will solidify its position as a central player within Monaco’s legal sector, recognized internationally for our capacity to navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and precision, while consistently delivering value and reliability to our diverse clientele.
