Interview with: Amit Krispin, Head of Energy & Infrastructure / Managing Partner
Krispin Rubinstein Blecher Law Offices
Amit Krispin, Head of Energy & Infrastructure and Managing Partner at KRB, explains how the firm delivers premium, partner-led legal services and strategic support on complex, regulated matters in Israel.
What do you see as the main points that differentiate [law firm name] from your competitors?
We specialize in resolving complex legal issues and in providing our clients with creative and effective legal services of the highest standard, while maintaining ongoing contact with our clients and with the direct and personal involvement of the firm’s partners. We believe this partner-led approach, combined with accessibility and responsiveness, is a core differentiator.
We are proud of our ability to form close relationships with our clients, understand their business in depth, and find original and innovative solutions to their intricate and complicated legal and regulatory problems. This allows us to deliver advice that is both strategic and highly practical.
Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?
We expect continued growth in Energy and Infrastructure, driven by sustained activity in Israel’s electricity and natural gas sectors and the increasing complexity of regulation, competitive tenders, financing and delivery models.
Our Energy & Infrastructure Department is consistently ranked among the top practices in Israel and plays a pivotal role in shaping the country’s electricity and natural gas sectors. Led by Amit Krispin — one of Israel’s most experienced and influential energy lawyers (Head of Energy & Infrastructure and Managing Partner), the team combines deep legal knowledge, regulatory expertise, and commercial insight to deliver strategic solutions for the most complex projects.
Our team supports clients at every stage of the project lifecycle – from tender preparation, licensing and permitting, through construction, financing, operation, and dispute resolution. These lifecycle needs continue to drive demand for integrated, cross-disciplinary support.
What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?
We have further strengthened our “full lifecycle” service model for complex projects, enabling clients to work with one integrated team from early-stage tender strategy through execution and dispute resolution, with direct partner involvement throughout.
We advise the full spectrum of market players, including independent power producers (IPPs), renewable energy developers, infrastructure companies, gas distribution licensees and marketers, large industrial consumers, and financial institutions. Our team supports clients at every stage of the project lifecycle – from tender preparation, licensing and permitting, through construction, financing, operation, and dispute resolution.
Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?
Yes. Clients increasingly expect faster turnaround, real-time collaboration and clearer visibility into complex processes and documentation.
On the advisory side, technology-driven complexity in regulated sectors (including energy transition and infrastructure delivery) requires counsel that can bridge regulatory and commercial considerations seamlessly and help clients manage risk efficiently across the project lifecycle.
We are proud of our ability to form close relationships with our clients, understand their business in depth, and find original and innovative solutions to their intricate and complicated legal and regulatory problems.
Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?
Our department has advised on some of Israel’s most significant energy transactions and developments, including:
- Privatization of major power plants: Representing the Edeltech and Shikun & Binui JV in the acquisition of Ramat Hovav (1,200 MW) and Hagit East (700 MW) power stations, valued at over NIS 6 billion.
- Development of new generation capacity: Representing the Sorek Partnership in a BOT tender for a 900 MW gas-fired power plant, worth over NIS 4 billion.
- Large-scale gas procurement: Advising industrial consumers on gas supply contracts totaling billions of dollars.
- Renewable energy projects: Supporting the development of solar PV and PV-plus-storage plants, and wind projects totaling approximately 300 MW.
- Natural gas distribution: Advising bidders and licensees in BOT tenders for gas networks and ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Electricity supply contracts: Representing suppliers and consumers in long-term electricity purchase agreements under regulated and competitive frameworks.
In each of these matters, we add value by turning regulatory requirements into executable commercial outcomes – supporting tender strategy, structuring risk allocation in project contracts (including EPC, O&M, PPAs and GSAs), and helping clients reach financing-ready, bankable solutions while minimizing disputes.
Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?
Clients trust our team for our pioneering role in Israel’s energy market, our hands-on experience with major projects, and our unique ability to bridge regulatory and commercial aspects seamlessly. We are proud to be a strategic partner for companies tackling the legal, financial, and operational challenges of Israel’s evolving energy and infrastructure sectors.
