Career

Jorge Timmermann focuses his practice advising both Chilean and foreign clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions, capital markets, venture capital, FinTech, corporate governance and projects development, private equity, banking and finance, among others.

His practice is focused on structuring M&A transactions, drafting and negotiation of stock purchase agreements, shareholders agreements and other customary M&A documents, as well as advising clients in the ex-ante merger control by the Fiscalía Nacional Económica.

He has participated in the issuance of bonds and commercial papers in the local market and in international markets, both registered and unregistered, mainly representing the issuers.

Timmermann is also active in the Venture Capital market, advising multiple venture capital firms and entrepreneurs in setting up and management of investment funds, startup vehicles and applying for State-driven funding opportunities.

In addition, Jorge advises clients on Fintech and financial regulation related matters.

Jorge’s experience includes a wide range of industries, such as, technology, energy, retail, among others.

The Santiago office’s recent workload includes advising early and growth-stage investment company Fen Ventures on a series of investments; and assisting Chilean chemical company SQM on the incorporation of its corporate venture capital arm. The seven-strong practice, which is notably active in relation to technology companies, is co-led by office managing partner Matías Zegers, who ‘stands out for his knowledge of venture capital’; and Jorge Timmermann, who also serves as the firm’s LatAm emerging growth and venture capital co-head.
