The practice covers all aspects of international transactions, including antitrust, tax, intellectual property and corporate finance matters. Private equity is a particularly strong area of focus. Deputy managing partner Martin Mittelman has a strong energy and natural resources practice, and co-leads the team alongside ‘first-class’ transactional lawyer Antonio Arias, who also serves as co-chair of DLA Piper’s Latin America regional group for emerging growth and venture capital. Counsel Juan Pablo Reverendo provides additional support, with the ‘diligent’ Ignacio Bard as the main contact at the associate level.

DLA Piper Argentina represents local and international clients in civil, commercial and administrative litigation at all court levels and is also called for support in domestic and international arbitrations. The practice also handles class actions and the enforcement of foreign judgements and awards in Argentina and is particularly well known for the depth of its expertise in shareholder litigation. Experienced litigator Alberto Rubio, who also covers labour law and restructuring matters, leads the team. Recently promoted counsel Florencia Fabio, who works on complex litigation and arbitration, and associate María Florencia Labarile, a commercial litigation, labour law and bankruptcy specialist, provide second-line support.

DLA Piper LLP (US) has made a series of lateral hires to its US-based Latin America practice, building on its solid presence in the region itself. The Latin America-focused capital markets group has a background in international debt capital markets, including high-yield bonds, medium-term notes, private placements, asset-backed securities and project/infrastructure bonds. It is also noted for structured finance and securitisation, along with debt restructurings and liability management transactions. New York partner Christopher Paci has extensive experience in international capital markets offerings, including those originating from Latin America. Joshua Kaufman joined the Miami office (as practice co-chair) from Cooley LLP in March 2024, reinforcing the firm’s international capital markets expertise. Senior capital markets specialist Marcelo Etchebarne now splits his time between New York and Buenos Aires.
