António Payan Martins is a Partner in the Corporate M&A and the Banking & Finance teams.

António specializes mainly in banking and finance law, in particular in acquisition finance, leveraged & and mezzanine finance, project and infrastructure finance, structured finance, and products. He also has extensive experience in special situations, restructurings, turnarounds, and transactions involving distressed assets and non-performing loans.

He is well-versed in regulatory and antitrust matters in the financial sector with a particular focus on antitrust matters, horizontal agreements and collusive practices, vertical restraints, distribution, and consumer products. He has extensive experience advising on complex transactions involving Portuguese-speaking countries, in particular project and infrastructure financing and planning and structuring of foreign investments.
