Career

Federico Santacruz joined the firm in 1993 and was named partner in 2001. He has over 30 years of experience representing sponsors, lenders, off takers, funds and other investors in all aspects of projects and structures, including renewable and non-renewable power plants, including in the new Mexican energy market.

Federico’s practice spans from the participation in different public auction processes for the acquisition of energy, capacity and clean energy certificates, to the representation of clients in project-related M&A (including necessary due diligence), the assistance in the different contractual needs of the projects (PPAs, EPCs O&M, MSA, TSAs, land agreements, gas supply and transportation and others) and diverse financing structures, and representing lessors and lenders of commercial and non-commercial aircraft, including helicopters, engines and other aircraft equipment.

Ritch, Mueller y Nicolau, S.C.‘s projects capabilities centre on assisting local and international banks (acting as both lenders and sponsors), as well as energy companies, with the development, financing and acquisition of infrastructure projects. In addition, the group is equipped to advise a range of investors on the acquisition of projects. The practice group is co-directed by Federico Santacruz González, who is well-versed in the construction of renewable and non-renewable power plants, and project-related M&A, as well as associated due diligence.
