Career

Federico Santacruz joined the firm in 1993 and has been a partner since 2001. He has more than 27 years of experience representing sponsors, lenders, offtakers, funds and other investors in all aspects of projects and structures, including renewable and non-renewable power plants, including in the new Mexican energy market.

Federico’s practice spans from the participation in different public auction processes for the acquisition of energy, capacity and clean energy certificates, to the representation of clients in project-related M&A (including necessary due diligence), the assistance in the different contractual needs of the projects (PPAs, EPCs O&M, MSA, TSAs, land agreements, gas supply and transportation and others) and diverse financing structures, and representing lessors and lenders of commercial and non-commercial aircraft, including helicopters, engines and other aircraft equipment.

He serves in the board of several companies including Grupo Pochteca and Desarrollos Metropolis, and participates in non-for-profit organisations.

The practice is co-directed by an experienced duo: Federico Santacruz González has a notable track record participating in public auction processes for the acquisition of energy certificates, and also handles projects-related M&A and financing; and Jorge Oria Anaya represents sponsors and lenders in energy, infrastructure and power transactions. Gabriel Del Valle deals with cross-border financial transactions, particularly project finance, structured finance and capital markets; while Asaf Jimenez Adorno specialises in the electricity sector, M&A and finance.
