Katherine advises professional trustees, settlors and beneficiaries on matters relevant to trusts and foundations, including drafting trust deeds and advising on complex structures including employee reward schemes, JPUTs and pensions.
Katherine’s deals include acting for the employee benefit trustees on:

– Cinven & Partnership Listing on the London Stock Exchange
– Advent International sale of Domestic & General
– the sale of Deutsche Bank’s Global Transaction Banking division to Vistra

Katherine is a member of the International Pension and Employee Benefit Association Lawyers (IPEBLA), the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), the working party for charities legislation in Jersey and until leaving the UK in 2012 was the Vice Chair of the Law Society of England and Wales Private Client Section.

Education

Katherine graduated from the University of Lincoln with a BA Hons in Law and French and completed her academic training at College of Law, York.

Katherine Neal – Ogier

Trust companies and HNWIs instruct Ogier on the full spectrum of private wealth issues, including the establishment of Jersey trusts and other wealth management vehicles. The group is increasingly active advising on the setup of structures for HNWIs looking to invest their capital. Jointly heading the team are James Campbell and Josephine Howe, both acting for clients on the structuring and administration of trusts, in addition to offering expertise on the use of private funds. Katherine Neal specialises in the use of trusts in relation to employee incentive and pension schemes. Henry Wickham, who made partner in October 2023, is noted for his work on international will and probate matters, complementing his broader trust and estate planning practice.
