David Toh is the Managing Partner of DAST and also the Head of Kuching & Serian Branches. He obtained the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Professional Legal Studies from University of Auckland, New Zealand (1991), in the process of which he won the Law School’s Annual Prize for Equity and The Law of Succession. David also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom (2004). He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of High Court of New Zealand (1991) and an Advocate of High Court of Sabah and Sarawak (1992).
David’s career in the legal industry spans 32 years. Within this time, he was exposed first to civil litigation and subsequently acquired extensive non-litigatious experience in banking, property and construction law. He is well versed in construction turnkey contracts and has been advising clients on property development and construction and real estate.
David also advises statutory bodies, major housing developers and financial institutions on issues involving the Sarawak Land Code and related law and practice of the construction, property and banking industries. He has frequently been entrusted to handle high-valued construction, loan and other contracts.
