A structured and asset finance expert with a particular focus on aviation finance. Saugata also advises clients in respect of general banking matters, structured products and derivatives.

Career

Saugata acts for banks, lessors, funds and airlines. His experience includes secured lending structures, ECA-backed bond and loan financings, JOLs, JOLCOs, portfolio acquisitions, pre-delivery payment (PDP) financings and leases.

He has advised on financings of other asset classes, including equipment, petroleum platforms and transportation assets. In general banking matters, he advises financial institutions, funds and borrowers on secured lending structures, bond issuances and debt restructurings.

Saugata also has expertise in all classes of OTC derivatives, including equities, credit, commodities, fx products, structured repos and stock loans. He has represented banks and funds on bond-financed projects, collateralised debt obligations (CDOs), margin-lending trades and structured investment vehicles.
