Diego Böhrt is a partner at PPO Abogados, and he leads the practice of Public Law and Anti-Trust.

Diego has a vast experience providing counseling to companies that maintain important relations with the State, in Administrative and Regulatory matters, particularly to those that operate in the telecommunications, electricity, hydrocarbons, transportation and Life Science industries.

He is also an expert in Antitrust Law and provides preventive counseling to clients in all the industries and has sponsored most of sanctioning administrative processes initiated by the Companies Authority for their antitrust behavior.

Has provided many consultancies to international cooperation organizations as an expert consultant in the areas of telecommunications, electricity, and competition.

Before joining PPO, he worked as an attorney in the regulation authorities of Telecommunications, Electricity and Hydrocarbons, as well as in the private sector.

Diego obtained his Law Degree from Universidad Católica Boliviana and a Master`s Degree in Economics and Regulation of Public Services from the University of Barcelona, in Spain. He also has a Master`s Degree in Corporate and Business Law from Universidad Gabriel René Moreno – de Chazal Foundation and a Diploma in Corporate Law (from UAGRM), Management of Policies to Promote Competition and Consumer Defense in the Telecommunications Sector from Universidad Externado de Colombia – EMI and diverse specialization and post graduate courses in Regulation and Competition at the USTTI (Unites States) University of Brasilia (Brazil) and Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (Argentina).

Working in tandem with other practices at the firm, including the tax, labour, regulatory and compliance teams, PPO Abogados‘ corporate and M&A department advises an extensive roster of both regional and multinational clients across a wide range of industries. As well as day-to-day corporate advice, the team is active in sector-significant transactions, often on a cross-border basis, from company and asset acquisitions to drafting commercial agreements. Practice head Carlos Pinto plays a lead role in both company and asset acquisitions, as well as advising companies on public tenders for the development of energy and infrastructure projects. He leads the team alongside Marcial Fernández, who acts for an impressive roster of national and international clients in M&A, restructurings and dissolutions, and foreign investments. Practice co-head Diego Böhrt advises companies on their incorporation in Bolivia, excelling in the provision of corporate governance advice, drafting of commercial agreements and setting up of investment structures. Senior associate Delma Paz plays a key role in reorganisations, due diligence and the negotiation of shareholder agreements. Carolina Arnez and Ingrid Reese are also names to note at the senior associate level. Associate María René Suárez left the team for an in-house position in September 2023.

The team is active in real estate transactions, handling due diligence processes and drafting sale, lease, occupancy and assignment agreements.
