Career
Mikael is a partner within Gernandt & Danielsson’s banking and finance practice. Mikael has more than 15 years’ of experience of advising arrangers as well as borrowers in a vast array of Swedish, Nordic and International debt finance transactions, including bank financings (leverage finance, cross over and investment grade), direct lending, high yield bonds, EMTN and MTN programmes, sustainable and green finance, regulatory capital (AT1 and T2 and similar instruments), hybrid bonds and hybrid loans, securitisations and other asset backed lending, margin loans, factoring, leasing and OTC derivatives.

Recent highlights for the group include advising discount retailer Rusta AB in connection with its IPO on Nasdaq Stockholm. Carl Westerberg has considerable experience in IPOs and ABBs, while Fredrik Palm has recently advised on recapitalisations and convertible bond issuances. The two partners leads the practice alongside DCM expert Mikael Borg, noted particularly for his experience in high yield bonds. Mikael Borg leads the dedicated DCM restructuring practice alongside Caroline Jägenstedt Wikman.
