Mikael is the Head of the Banking and Finance Practice Group.

He primarily advises a wide range of significant clients, such as major banks and financial institutions, direct lenders/debt funds and private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers, on a wide range of domestic and cross-border debt financing matters. His practice typically has a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition finance, fund finance and capital call bridge financing, real estate finance, syndicated loans, project finance, refinancing and investment grade. Mikael also handles ESG/sustainability linked finance matters, including green loans. His key work also includes advising in relation to high yield bond offerings, super senior revolving credits, as well as securitisations and asset-backed financings.

Mikael notably has extensive experience in corporate restructuring matters and work-outs acting for lenders, agents, syndicated lending groups, borrowers and private equity sponsors.

Carl Lindencrona’s considerable experience encompasses domestic and international acquisition, real estate, and asset finance transactions. Senior associate Elin Jansson plays a key role in the team, advising on financing transactions across the whole debt spectrum.

Setterwalls’ restructuring and insolvency practice handles formal insolvency proceedings, loan restructurings, out-of-court refinancings, and distressed debt trading work, among other matters, with the team representing lenders and syndicated lending groups, corporate debtors, private equity sponsors, distressed asset purchasers, and other interested parties. Mikael Magnusson in Stockholm leads the group along with Kenneth Nilsson and Christian Andersch, who are both based in Gothenburg.
