Position
Lisette is head of Van Doorne’s Commercial team. She advises and litigates on behalf of domestic and international companies and organisations with regard to all commercial contracts, such as (international) agency, franchise and distribution contracts, (international) sale/purchase agreements (including general conditions, sourcing and framework agreements), services agreements, co-operation agreements and confidentiality agreements. She has specific expertise in commercial litigation (both before Dutch Courts as well as in (international) arbitration), consumer law, liability law and related matters of an international private law nature.
She also advises and litigates in the areas of e-commerce and IT, including outsourcing, software and hardware sales and supply of software licensing and on failed IT projects.
Lisette specialises in contract and liability law (including food and health safety related issues), civil procedural law, international private law and ICT.
Career
She has been a lecturer for NEVI (Netherlands Association for Procurement Management) for more than 10 years. She is a regular editor for Rechtspraak Contractenrecht (Contract Law Case Law ), a monthly publication of Kluwer. She is a member of the International Distribution Institute and the Association for Distribution, Franchise and Agency Law. She is an arbitrator (IDIArb) under the rules of the Swiss Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Van Doorne‘s sizeable dispute resolution practice, led by litigator Daan Beenders, is a leader for high-profile domestic cases and cross-border disputes. The team handles insurance and professional liability litigation, including post-M&A disputes, and frequently handles shareholder claims and disputes between management and works councils before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. Beenders has a stellar track record in class actions – and has recently been involved in a number of multibillion-euro class action claims – and liability cases. Joost Volkers was promoted to partner in January 2023, expanding the firm’s financial, restructuring and insolvency litigation capabilities at senior level.
