Rona Kaspi, senior partner of AKT Law Firm, discusses how the Firm’s 25-year journey is grounded in trust, values, global reach and commitment to evolving client needs.

What do you see as the main points that differentiate AKT Law Firm from your competitors?

What truly differentiates AKT Law Firm is not only what results we achieve, but also how we achieve them. Our philosophy has always been that our client’s business is our business. We take ownership of their challenges as if they were our own, learning their industry in depth so that the advice we give is not only legally sound but also commercially meaningful.

Equally important is the way we work together. At AKT, we believe “we are all in the same boat.” We trust and support one another, value teamwork over individual ego and communicate openly and respectfully. This culture ensures that every client benefits from the strength of the entire team, not just individual expertise.

Finally, we stand out because of our integrity. We do our best in everything we undertake, holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of honesty, quality and responsibility. Over 25 years, this approach has transformed client trust into long-term loyalty and that is our greatest achievement.

Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?

Looking ahead, we expect significant growth in areas such as sustainability and ESG, where clients will increasingly require guidance on carbon trading, emissions compliance, and sustainable finance. At the same time, demand for support in cross-border transactions, finance and regulatory compliance is rising as clients pursue more sophisticated international opportunities.

Dispute resolution and arbitration will remain central as commercial relationships become more complex and technology-driven practices such as data protection, cybersecurity and AI regulation are expanding quickly. These areas will grow not only because of regulatory changes and market dynamics, but also because clients want law firms that think long-term, anticipate risks and help them adapt to change without losing momentum.

What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?

One of the most important changes has been our investment in digital transformation and knowledge management. By adopting advanced legal software, we have created a system that increases transparency and accelerates workflows.

Equally significant is the strengthening of our internal culture. We take initiative, work in an informed and disciplined manner and continuously learn from our experiences. As a result, clients benefit from quicker responses, consistent quality, and the collective insight of the entire firm.

Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?

Technology has indeed reshaped our interaction with clients. Secure platforms allow for instant communication, transparent sharing of documents and seamless monitoring of legal processes. This creates confidence and ensures clients always feel supported.

Yet technology on its own is not enough. We believe in the power of common sense, using data-driven insights to make timely and objective decisions. Technology is a tool that enhances our ability to think critically, act decisively and remain transparent. By combining technology with our values of honesty, respect and responsibility, we ensure that innovation always serves a meaningful purpose.

Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?

In our work, we consistently aim to go beyond resolving legal issues to creating lasting value. For example, in cross-border investment and contract negotiations, we not only identify risks but also design solutions that strengthen our clients’ negotiating power and operational flexibility. By treating their business as our own, we ensure our advice supports not just compliance but also growth and resilience.

This approach reflects our core value of doing our best. We act with responsibility, precision and foresight, ensuring that every recommendation we give contributes directly to the client’s long-term success.

Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?

Clients today expect more than legal problem-solving; they look for stability, direction and foresight. They want partners who communicate openly, act with consistency and help them navigate uncertainty with confidence.

In three years, AKT Law Firm will continue to expand as a trusted, full-service partner, both in Türkiye and internationally. We will build on our expertise in sustainability, cross-border transactions and digital law, while investing in our people and technology to maintain agility and excellence. We will also remain guided by our long-term vision, continuously developing ourselves, our clients and our profession.

Our goal is not only to meet today’s needs but to anticipate tomorrow’s opportunities and challenges. By staying true to our values—integrity, teamwork, responsibility, common sense and long-term thinking—we will continue to be a safe harbour for our clients, supporting them with clarity and confidence in an ever-changing world.
