Interview with: Grace Philotea Joachim, Partner
Joachim & Jacobs Attorneys
At Joachim & Jacobs Attorneys, we pride ourselves on being a boutique, tailored, client-centric, and trusted law firm. Our commitment to sustainable success sets us apart from the competition.
What do you see as the main points that differentiate Joachim & Jacobs Attorneys from your competitors?
Provision of personalized, attentive approach and solution-driven outcomes for all our clients, regardless of the size or complexity of their cases, that larger firms often struggle to deliver.
Which practices do you see growing in the next 12 months? What are the drivers behind that?
- Labor and Employment – with new laws and economics cycles, there give rise to issues such as employee classification, wage, hour, pay transparency and inequality, better pay and improved working environment.
- Corporate & Commercial – as framework necessary for businesses to exist, operate and engage, there rise high demand for company formations and structure, commercial transactions, disputes resolution etc.
- Litigation – increase in number of clients needing litigation-based assistance and presence of competent trial attorneys in our firm.
What’s the main change you’ve made in the firm that will benefit clients?
Through J&J vision, inspired the team to go beyond the call of duty to assist at any time and guaranteeing that our clients have unlimited access to a team member they know and trust.
Additionally, we assign a dedicated partner and/or associate to each client, ensuring they receive personalized attention and support. Our entire team is available to assist at any time, guaranteeing that our clients have unlimited access to someone they know and trust.
Is technology changing the way you interact with your clients, and the services you can provide them?
Yes, technology such as automation has changed in customer-facing processes like contract management, legal research, discovery as well as back-end processes like billing. This in turn has improved productivity, reduced time-consuming services, service delivery and reduced overheads.
Can you give us a practical example of how you have helped a client to add value to their business?
Actively maintaining the company’s operations compliant with all the relevant laws and regulations. This can be confirmed by one of our client’s satisfaction of the value added as found on our LinkedIn:

Are clients looking for stability and strategic direction from their law firms – where do you see the firm in three years’ time?
Being a leading law firm in Africa, driven by women’s leadership and a commitment to serving our clients’ needs. We aim to expand our services across sub-Saharan Africa, incorporating more associates and establishing a larger footprint in the region.
