Green Guide Profile: Vukmir & Associates

Croatian law firm Vukmir’s founding partner Mladen Vukmir has a demonstrable commitment to sustainability through his legal support to clients driving a green transition as well as his personal dedication as the founder of Croatia’s Slow Food Movement. The firm itself aims to reduce waste, only use local producers and participates in the ‘Plastic Free Croatia’ initiative.

The team’s strong legal expertise in IP is fronted by Vukmir and Carla Biancotti. Since 2009 the firm has supported Ge@275 and Prof. Stasa Puskaric with regards to all legal aspects of protection and marketing in connection with Puskaric’s invention of artificially initiating the formation of Marine snow to help the ocean remove atmospheric CO2, thereby preventing global warming and climate change. Given the profound green potential of this project, the firm offers advice under financially favourable terms.

It is also advising Croatian start-up INCLUDE, which develops smart and sustainable city solutions, on all legal issues ranging from compliance to IP. In the renewables space, William Zupancic has handled several patent applications for wind turbines and Sanja Tkalec Kovač and Ivan Ćuk are assisting Crescent Capital with the acquisition of a wind project.
