Myles has been ranked in legal directories since 2012 as an expert in extradition law and commended as being “very impressive”, “an extremely able court advocate”; “concise and easily understood”; “attracting high quality work in the extradition arena”. Myles has an established extradition practice representing Requested Persons, Requesting States and the National Crime Agency. He has undertaken a number of key cases in the High Court in this rapidly developing area of law, dealing with issues such as convictions for contumacy; disproportionate sentences; the applicability of the “slip rule”; and the demarcation between warrants issued where the Requested Person is accused and those where they are merely wanted for investigation. In 2016, Myles was appointed to the Attorney Generals C panel. In addition to dealing with challenges under the Extradition Act, Myles has advised clients on issues such as prisoner transfer, freezing of assets across jurisdictions and mutual legal assistance. Myles has written numerous articles on the subject of extradition and has recently assisted the authors of “Extradition law: a practitioner’s guide”. Myles has been seconded to various government departments and prosecuting authorities including the Ministry of Defence, the UK Border Agency and the Serious Fraud Office. He has assisted with large scale disclosure exercises in criminal prosecutions and claims for damages. His most recent secondment was on a part time basis to HSBC, where he was responsible for reviewing claims for consequential loss following the mis-selling of interest rate hedging products. Myles defends health care professionals in disciplinary proceedings before the GMC and HCPC. Recent cases include assisting a Doctor before the GMC’s Interim Order Panel and defending a Bio-Medical Scientist before the HCPC on allegations of misconduct and a lack of competence. 

Myles is able to represent those facing Tribunals within the Prison estate, having appeared in both parole and adjudication hearings. Given his background in Administrative law, he is well placed to advise on potential challenges to their findings before the High Court.
