Position

Gerry is a recognised specialist in medical and police law. His medical work includes regular appearances on behalf of practitioners before various regulatory bodies, including the General Medical Council, General Dental Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council. He is also frequently instructed by the Medical Defence organisations (MDU, MPS, MDDUS), the NHSLA and leading Claimant clinical negligence solicitors in civil actions and Inquests. Gerry’s police practice covers the full spectrum of police work. He regularly represents the Metropolitan Police and other forces in high-profile police disciplinary and appeal tribunals. He has extensive experience in police civil actions and Inquests arising from fatal firearms operations and deaths in custody. He is accustomed to giving tactical advice and advice concerning the use of information, handling covert human intelligence sources, the actions of under cover police officers and duty of care issues generally.
