Career

Fernando Bravo has been a partner in Prieto since the year 2005.

Head of the Corporate Area and runs the Energy Group in Prieto.

He has been legal counsel in major acquisitions and in important securities market transactions. In recent years, his professional practice has been actively focused on corporate assistance to national and foreign companies, fundamentally in the energy and industrial sectors.

He earned his degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 1991 and he joined Prieto in 1992.

Mr. Bravo is professor of Commercial Law at the School of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he has been teaching courses in Corporate Law, the Securities Market, the Financial System, Commercial Contracts, Insolvency and Bankruptcy continuously since 1998.

He also is a professor in the Master and Enterprise Law Program at the Universidad de Los Andes since 2004, where he teaches courses on commercial contracts and corporate governance. He has also spoken as an academician at several seminars.

The group is co-led by Juan Tagle, an adviser on M&A, joint ventures and bidding processes; and energy sector specialist Fernando Bravo, who is a longstanding secretary for ENGIE Energía Chile’s board of directors. The practice also showcases Isabel Wolleter, who advises on corporate law, M&A and capital markets; José Andrés Pascual, an expert in energy and natural resources-related M&A and joint ventures; and Nicolás Yuraszeck K, who is experienced in corporate law, M&A and infrastructure and construction projects. Practice directors Andrés Laymuns and Maite Larrañaga, along with senior associate Aníbal Larrain and associate Tomás Ochagavía round out the team. Former counsel Federico Rodríguez left the firm in December 2023.

Examples include the acquisition of a large energy generation portfolio and the development of battery energy storage system projects.
