Mr. González has structured, negotiated and completed transactions in a wide variety of industries, including insurance, FinTech, renewable energy, manufacturing, technology, consumer products, industrials, hospitality and health care.

A significant portion of Mr. González´s practice involves the representation of private equity firms and their portfolio companies in different transactions, including follow-on acquisitions and liquidity events.  He has recently handled matters on behalf of Bain Capital, Cascade Management, Cerberus Capital Management, Hidden Harbor Capital Partners, MiddleGround Capital, Pritzker Private Capital, Providence Equity, and Sentinel Capital Partners.

Mr. Gonzalez has been repeatedly recognized as one of the country’s leading practitioners in mergers and acquisitions by specialized publications such as Chambers and Partners, IFLR 1000, and The Legal 500. Highlighted for his solid expertise in the M&A area, in Chambers and Partners he is described by clients as “a top-notch lawyer who is always on top of everything”, ” a great coordinator, a very good negotiator and very good at building relationships with clients.” and as someone who “carries us through negotiations and seizes the best opportunities on the table for his client”.

In 2004 Mr. González worked as a Foreign Associate in the London office of Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. Mr. González received his law degree (JD) from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in 1998, received an LL.M degree from the University of London in 2001 and a Masters in Finance degree from the Graduate School of Business Administration and Leadership (EGADE) in 2002. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
