Julio focuses his practice on labor and employment law, advising on all legal aspects of employment relationships in Mexico and handling both advisory and contentious matters. He is particularly experienced in advising global employers on employment laws, compensation, and employee benefits issues, as well as acting on domestic and cross-border transactions.
Mr. Alvarez is consistently recognized as one of Mexico’s leading lawyers in labor matters by major legal directories, including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.

Mr. Alvarez obtained his Law degree (JD) with honors from Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 2011. He also obtained a Postgraduate degree in Labor, Employment and Social Security Law from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in 2012. In addition, Mr. Alvarez obtained his Master´s degree in Labor and Employment Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2016. Mr. Alvarez has also completed several programs with regards to legal specialization from prestigious institutions such as Georgetown University and Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México.
