The application, regulation and commercialization of emerging technologies, as well as related litigation, are particular areas of expertise for the team. Counsel Grant Buchanan directs the national department and specializes in broadcasting and telecoms regulatory matters and financing. Mason recently paired up with Toronto-based senior counsel and copyright expert Barry Sookman to successfully represent Sam Smith, Normani and Stargate — and their record labels and music publishers — in a copyright infringement action.
