Andrea DeField is a partner in Hunton’s top-ranked insurance coverage practice where she leads the firm’s cyber insurance practice. She is also a firmwide hiring partner. Andrea has dedicated her career to helping clients manage risk and maximize insurance recovery and is a trusted advisor to C-suites and boards on insurance issues. She handles all types of insurance issues, including those arising from D&O, E&O, CGL, cyber, crime, builder’s risk and property insurance policies.
With an undergraduate degree focused on crisis communications, Andrea understands the pressures and needs of executives navigating through cybersecurity events, natural disasters, regulatory investigations, and bet-the-company litigation. She has led clients through insurance claims for some of the most widely publicized international cyber incidents of 2020 through 2024. Her work has been profiled by several national publications and she is a regular contributor to industry publications and conferences.
Andrea has handled arbitrations and trials and appeals in state and federal courts across the country in various types of insurance coverage and bad faith matters.
