Career
Andrea DeField is an insurance problem solver who has dedicated her career to helping clients manage risk and maximize insurance recovery. She regularly conducts insurance policy audits for some of the world’s largest companies in order to identify gaps in coverage before renewal and works with clients and their brokers to fill gaps through manuscript endorsements.
When a loss occurs, Andrea guides clients through the claims process to recovery. She has counseled energy, retail and consumer products, hospitality, technology, construction, financial services, and other clients through eight- and nine-figure insurance claims arising out of a host of risks, including cyber incidents, hurricanes, government investigations, consumer class actions, antitrust, shareholder derivative, and wrongful death suits, among others.
When insurers fail to pay amounts due, Andrea represents policyholder clients in litigation or alternative dispute resolution. She has handled insurance coverage and bad faith cases in courts throughout the country.
Andrea is particularly well-known for her cyber insurance work, both in counseling policyholder clients on cyber insurance coverage, and in representing clients in cyber claim disputes. She has handled numerous cyber insurance claims, including claims arising out of some of the most publicized data breaches and ransomware attacks of 2019, 2020 and 2021.
