Position

Jeremy is head of the litigation, dispute resolution and insolvency practice in Hong Kong. His practice is focused on high value and complex commercial and corporate litigation as well as insolvency and restructuring matters under the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

Clients and industry peers compliment Jeremy as an “excellent strategist with first rate client handling skills” (Legal 500 Asia-Pacific) and he “is widely regarded for his sharp intellect and cherished by clients for his sophisticated charm” (Asian Legal Business).

His success in handling significant cases and exceeding clients expectations has earned him the recognition as a Leading Individual in Legal 500 Asia-Pacific and as one of the Top 10 Offshore Litigators by the Asian Legal Business in 2023 (for the third consecutive year).

Career

Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Jeremy was based in the British Virgin Islands with another offshore law firm before relocating in 2017 to lead their litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in Hong Kong.

Before moving offshore, Jeremy practised for a decade as a barrister at a leading chambers in London where he was noted in Legal 500 as being ‘a brilliant blend of legal and commercial acumen’.

He graduated from New College, Oxford and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2006 (currently not practising). He was admitted as a barrister of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands) in 2016 and is enrolled as a registered associate in Bermuda.
