Career
Jemma joined JE Bennett Law in February 2020 to specialise in Court of Protection work having qualified as a solicitor in 2008. Prior to joining JE Bennett Law Jemma spent over 11 years at Irwin Mitchell as a clinical negligence solicitor, predominately working on birth injury cases and cases where clients had suffered life changing injuries.
Jemma has spent most of her career working with injured and vulnerable clients and their families and has significant experience of working closely with case managers, other professionals to provide a collaborative approach to support her clients.
As a Court of Protection solicitor most of Jemma’s clients have sustained serious brain injuries as a result of catastrophic accidents or birth trauma and have received substantial damages awards and Jemma is responsible for the day to day management of these complex deputyships. A number of Jemma’s clients have ongoing litigation cases and Jemma’s past experience as a litigator means she is well placed to work closely with the clinical negligence and serious injury teams to assist with the litigation process and to ensure funds are applied in her client’s best interests, as well as supporting her clients through the litigation process and beyond.
Jemma was made partner in 2023.
